So I'm in the market for a new digital camera as my Nikon Coolpix 995 and Canon IXUS V2 are both only 2 megapixels.
I've been looking at the rather sexy Sony DSC-P120 which seems to be very highly rated, plus comes with a spare battery and case for only slightly more than the model below.
I've got a 512MB memory stick that I use in my Clie to watch movies, so I wouldn't have to pay any more for memory (A big bonus).
Has anyone else had any experience with this camera? I'd be interested to know if its worth it.

I recently purchased a P100 for my agency ( http://www.stoneward.com ) which is quite excellent. It turns on and is ready to use almost instantly. It has five, count`em, FIVE focus points. And most importantly it's a Sony product. Sweetness.
If the P120 had been available in the USA I would have bought that, in black. I might just order one for myself, and my P10 isn't fully a year old yet.

I bought the DSC-P100 in June. At first, It was a great buy. Then with some time using it I had noticed some flaws with this model.
For some people, the camera is too small. I dont really mind.
I have found that the indoor flash pictures have been fair to poor. I am very careful to stay within its flash range. (10-15 feet, if that)
The macro mode is superb. Shots of flowers are lovely. BUT... In the macro mode with the flash some pictures are washed out.
I find that the zoom lens can be somewhat soft at certain zoom ranges, and the lens has too much distortion.
The MPEG movie VX fine with a memory stick pro is great except the focus, after viewing a few videos, especially in darker lighting, it seems like the camera keeps 'searching' for a focus on a subject, even a still subject.
I havent read about the DSC-P120 model. Hopefully sony fixed these issues on the 120 instead of releasing a black version of the 100.
The DSC-P150 is something you might want to look at. The Same camera but with 7.2 megapixels.
Price, Quality, Features, and Being User Friendly all are strong points with this camera. Most people probably won't notice the flaws.
A great site to check out for digital camera reviews http://www.dpreview.com
Hopefully this helps.

I sell liquidated electronics (returns, overstock, refurbished, etc.), and could get you one for an appreciable deal, if you were interested.
Personally, I'd go with a Sony. Many friends of mine have had them, and have nothing but good stuff to say about them.

i used to work at best buy selling cameras, and there were only a few of the sony cameras that i liked. this would be one, since it is a newer model of the older ones. it is a great camera, and an added plus is the lens. it is a carl zeiss which other a few others, from like a digital rebel, this is the best lens on the market. it is also a glass lens so it will also be clearer. definately a good camera!
